Cartridge heaters are precision-engineered cylindrical heating elements designed to be inserted directly into drilled holes in moulds, dies, platens and other metal blocks. Their compact form factor makes them ideal where space is limited but heat density requirements are high.
Construction
We offer both high-density and low-to-medium density cartridge heaters. High-density units use tightly wound, swaged construction for maximum watt density in a small diameter, suited to demanding hot-runner and die-casting applications. Low and medium density cartridges are a reliable, economical choice for general-purpose mould heating.
Key Features
- Tight diametrical tolerances for a snug, efficient fit in drilled bores
- Swaged construction increases mechanical strength and heat transfer
- Wide range of standard diameters and lengths; fully custom sizes available
- Optional incoloy or stainless-steel sheath for corrosive environments
Typical Applications
Injection and compression moulds, hot runner manifolds, die-casting dies, packaging machinery, and laboratory or process heating equipment.
